Welcome & Sorry

Greetings All,

First and foremost, welcome to the 4th Grade website! Over the past few weeks, I have been editing and ensuring that I am up to par with the expectations of all websites at QAS. I do apologize as it has taken time to edit and update some of the information found here. This post is going to be a short introduction of the website to make sure that each and every section is explained. If you have any questions, as always, please email me!

**Just for your information, most of the class website is hyperlinked (meaning you can click what you are searching for and it will directly take you there, for example the in the "Resource" tab you can click "Journeys" and it will take you directly to the site)

Home:

The home page will be where these "blog" post will be found. My goal for these blog posts is to continue to be transparent with what is happening in the classroom. Ideally, I would like to post once or twice a month regarding some of the things we learned in class and to keep you up to date with any other key events!

The overall or end goal, over the course of the year, is for this website/blog to jump start students in the writing process and to feature a monthly periodical that is completely written by them (with proofreading of course!). I want them to be the seeker of knowledge and to find information using 21st century technology. What better way to have them write their own periodical with what they are ultimately interested in? Until we get to this point, we may just have star students of the week and small post highlighting accomplishments in the classroom! Please stay tuned!

About:

The "About Me" is just a short little introduction to who I am and the interest that I have (Please excuse the huge picture, it is just how the formatting worked out).

Curriculum:

The Curriculum tab serves as a general overview of the standards that we cover in 4th grade. As time moves on, I hope to provide a general overview of the new curriculum we are implementing this year. Once the class has completed Journeys, Eureka Math, and the new Science Curriculum that we are obtaining, I will have a better grasp at what the curriculum really achieves.

This tab also includes the 2018-2019 Enrichment Schedule that the 4th grade attends. In addition, it also explains what is needed for Parent Volunteers! We will definitely need volunteers in the coming future!

SLEs:

As a requirement for all classroom websites, the SLE tab is a resource for both parent and student to see what SLEs are for each month. Every month, students will be nominated for an SLE award and will be presented during Mass!

Resources:

The resource is exactly what it states, a resource. This tab is for both student and parent to use as a supplement to the students' learning in class. Some of the resources include, Eureka Math Videos, Eureka Math Parent Resource, OpenEd, Journeys, and the Login instructions for both, etc.

Class Rules:

This tab is to ensure that anyone who visits the site understands how simple our class rules are. I only have three class rules which are:

1. If you are not learning

2. If your friend isnt learning

3. If I cannot teach

It is not allowed!

This tab also includes the rules for birthday celebrations!

&&& last but not least,

Gallery:

I do try to make sure I am up to date with photos in the classroom. Most of the photos come from our STEAM projects. If you would like to have any of the photos, please email me and I will happily send them over!

Again, my hopes for this website is to be as transparent with you all. I hope you have a wonderful week!

blessings,

Mr. Santana
